For some postal destinations the USPS offers guaranteed 2 day service. I recently mailed a package where this service was offered. The postal worker explained that if the package was mailed on a Friday, it would be delivered on Sunday. San Francisco, CA is one of the destinations where this service is offered and the package in question was, indeed, delivered on a Sunday.
You should check whether the postal service offers the 2-day service to the USCIS office.

at some month before OCT 2007 the dates would become unavailable.
what would happen at that time?
say your case was received by USCIS and they have not issued FP notices.
what if they issued FP notices but not issued EAD and/or AP.
would they still issue an EAD and AP even if your dates are not current(obviously the case was received by them and they issued you a case number)

First of all - Stay away from X ( be it american/russian or whatever company)
From your post it seems like Y is a kind of better in behaviour, closer to Home
, wants to help you in GC ( FROM SCRATCH) but you dont want to pay for GC cost of 8000-9000 again ( what you wasted already ).
I'm not a legal counsel/mentor or lawyer but in mY opinion - You find a company Z which has similar criteria as Y but only additional criteria is they will bear the cost of your GC - Its not difficult to find such Z ( worst case they may ask you to sign a bond of 7-10K if you leave them 1 yr after GC) ....
After you get GC or EAD at hand you have lots of avenues open to tackle any bond that Z might have made you sign.
Does this helps ??

I have labor and I-140 approved from Company X.
I was compromising my personal life by staying away from my family and company X didn't find any client near to my home. I decided to stay at home hoping Company X will find some client near to my home. I was on a bench(no salary for a month).When I asked for a "employment letter "to file I-485 Comapny X said they can't give because they are
not paying me , I said I will resign and then you give me "future employement letter". I resiged Company X( i found company Y near to my home), in 10 days they cancelled my H1b visa without informing me, gladly I found Company Y and H1b transfer took place before they could cancel my H1b. Company X is reluctant even today to give future emplyement
letter.They are ready to do corp-to-corp, for that I have to pay them H1b tranfer cost of $3200(as my prior h1b got cancelled by company X) . I don't beleive its worth going back to them , but at the same time never wanted to lose $8650 green card cost. To join Company Y again I paid h1b transfer fee and , company Y expects me to pay Green card cost again. I am on 7th year extension. You might be right. Check the response senator got from USCIS on Aug 6th. I was later approved on Aug 16th.

I agree with MChundi here. I have been in this process since 2002 and have worked closely with my lawyers but it never ceases to amaze me how much complexity is built into the GC system. Putting the ads, applying for labor, aplying for I-140 answering any throwbacks from DOL/UCSIS. TO add to that the goof ups by the immigration lawyers and their para-legals certainly confuses the hell out of u.
Most ppl who apply for GCs are unaware about retrogression and PBEC problems at the onset. Even if they are aware u think, "well, my labour will take abt a year or so so by then hopefully things will become current". I mean not a lot of us, have the time or the foresight to plan THAT much in advance.
Now if we as H1s dont know the deal here, H4's CERTAINLY dont know the deal and it takes them a LOT more time to grasp the reality of things coz they have to absorb many other things like learning how to drive here, learning how the credit system works here etc etc etc.
All that being said, i would ask the H4's to try and avoid pointing blame at the IV members. This is not an easy process for sure. We are in NO position to demand anything from the US Govt. Whatever progress we have made is also quite phenomenal. I Still cant believe we collected even $100,000+ !! Right now the best strategy is to solve the primary applicant's problems and try and get the dependents problems go away along with that.

It depends on where ur I140 approval came from. What I mean by lag is they receive the application on 1st jun, they are working on assigning the lin # after 6 days. If they were at the same pace they should start working on the new I485 recived on Jun 1st today.

I pledged 100 $ today for Aman's expenses because I felt really bad abt that. I donated around 300$ till date including 20$ recurring contribution.
I filed my 485 long time ago. But when people who are really seeing the fruits of IV (July VB reversal) are higly reluctant to donate even a few bucks, while they are spending thousand's of dollars for their 485 stuff, I am kinda confused.
Are people really that selfish not to donate a few bucks(may be 5$per month) to an organization which is making them file 485 and reversed all this fiasco.

I consider the 30-40 range 'golden' years . Enough experience to handle various things without much botheration of senility. Depression is not continuous, but comes once in a while. Currently i am optimistic that India EB2 will move forward starting Oct.2008 and my PD of Nov.2002 will become current some time in 2009 and i will be inching to 10 years of SSN eligibility.
I also have following kind of worries too, which haunt me often.
Being the 'only son' there is a big emotional pull from the parents to take care of them. But am worried about 'transporting' the American citizen kid back to India ( like them adjusting to the culture there ). Now my batch mates who got GC ( because they came early to USA and got lucky. One India EB2 friend - applied PERM in 2005 & I-485 in 2005 - got his GC in Aug 2007 ! ) , aiming for citizenship , then they want to move to India and plan to bring up kids there. And when they are 'ripe' for higher studies, march back to USA.

Like many others on these forums, I have given up significant opportunities because I believed mistakenly that the GC mess would be cleared up in 2-3 years. Sometimes that does lead to extreme frustration - My wife often jokes that when I do actually receive my GC, I will have lost a very convenient excuse that the lack of one is holding me back. :-)
To those who are starting down this path, I have this piece of unsolicited advice. All I am saying is dont you idiots understand that the constant stress and pressure being faced by us with these dates going back and forth. keep them constant at a particular date, finish processing them and then move them one day at a time. then we will know when we will get the green cards. why move foraward give some one from 2006 green card and then push it to 2000 (who the f**k does not know that there is no one there in 2000).

Even after years of slavery to them they keep doing this.
As per history they say no company won the case of Non compete agrement against employee so far in court of law.
I got my arears money from one of the India's reputed software company (after a year' s correspondance)only after I warned them that I will inform labor dept.
Ofcourse as another member suggested, it is better to keep yourself at peace and get along as long as your immigration status is not disturbed by those blood suckers.
